Meet Brandy

19 Years on the Front Lines. Now Helping You Reclaim Yours.

19 years of travel ER nursing — across some of the most demanding hospitals in the country — taught me what it looks like when a body and mind are running on empty. Burnout taught me that I was one of those people.

My Story

For nearly two decades, nursing was a central part of my life. I worked as an ER nurse in demanding clinical environments across the East Coast and in travel assignments that asked a lot of both body and mind. Emergency medicine is intense, unpredictable work — every shift different, every patient a new challenge. I loved helping people during some of the most critical moments of their lives.

But over time, I also began to notice something that stayed with me.

Very early in my career, I started seeing gaps in the way healthcare addressed chronic illness. Working in fast-paced emergency settings was energizing, but I began to notice a pattern: many patients came in with complex problems and left with prescriptions, while the deeper causes of their health issues often remained unresolved.

I found myself increasingly curious about what might exist beyond that model of care.

In 2011, that curiosity led me to enroll at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I became a certified health coach. The experience introduced me to a broader perspective on health — one that looked at nutrition, lifestyle, and the body's underlying systems rather than focusing solely on symptom management. It opened a door to a different way of thinking about healing.

"The body often needs deeper support than conventional approaches alone can provide."

Years later, my perspective shifted again in a deeply personal way. While still working in emergency medicine, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It was a moment that forced me to reevaluate my own health and the direction of my life. At the time, I had been reading about the Wahls Protocol for someone else. Ironically, that information became part of my own path forward. Because I had already spent years studying nutrition and health, I had tools available to me at a critical moment.

That experience reinforced something I had already begun to suspect: the body often needs deeper support than conventional approaches alone can provide.

Later, a podcast introduced me to Frequency-Specific Microcurrent, opening an entirely new perspective on how the body communicates through electrical signaling and energy. From there, I began exploring additional modalities that support nervous system regulation and cellular health, including PEMF therapy, red light therapy, BAUD neuro-acoustic technology, and HeartMath biofeedback.

What I experienced personally was profound. As I began supporting my nervous system in new ways, the constant background tension I had been carrying for years started to ease. My mind became quieter. My body felt calmer. For the first time in a long time, I felt truly regulated — not just rested.

That experience ultimately changed the direction of my life.

Today, through Thrive Living, I combine nearly two decades of clinical nursing experience with advanced wellness technologies to help individuals and organizations recover from chronic stress and burnout. My work focuses on supporting nervous system balance, improving cellular energy, and helping people reconnect with a state of calm, resilience, and clarity.

Thrive Living was created to offer something simple but powerful: a space where people can pause, reset, and listen to what their bodies have been trying to say.

I now live in Raleigh, North Carolina with my husband and our dog, Bobo, and I'm passionate about helping others discover that healing and resilience are often closer than we think.
